Computer Troubleshooting Tips |
 |
We have come up with a few helpful, cost saving tips
for you to use in troubleshooting every day computer
issues. Listed below are a few things you can try
before calling us:
- Restart the software – Whether it is
Microsoft Word or anything else, if something is
going haywire in the software you are working
in, just close it and restart it. Many times
this will solve your problem.
- Restart the computer - This is an
excellent solution for a multitude of hardware
and software computer issues. When you call us,
the first question we would probably ask is,
“Have you tried restarting the computer?”.
- Check the cords – You would be
surprised at how many times the solution to a
non-functional printer is simply that it’s
unplugged – either from the wall or the
computer. This goes for mice, keyboards,
speakers, etc.
- Place a service call – When all else
fails, call in the experts. When placing a
service call, try to be as detailed as possible
about the problem. Tell us about everything
you’ve done to try to fix the problem. Let us
know if you have recently changed anything on
the computer, such as installing or removing
software or files. Also, if your computer
freezes or gives you an error message, let us
know what you were doing when it happened and
let us know what the error message was.
To place a service call, you can call us at

Defanged Attachments |
|
For those of you who are frustrated with receiving
emails with defanged attachments, here
is an easy tip to solve the problem. Just save the
attachment, then rename it by deleting the defanged
part.
For example, change testfile.DEFANGED12345-doc to
testfile.doc by removing the "DEFANGED12345-" part.
You will notice that as soon as you do this, the
icon will return to what it should be. |
