ROI:  Ever Wondered What the Return on Investment is for Legal Specialty Software?

Many law firms struggle with taking the plunge and investing in specialty software such as document management, case management or document assembly software.  They see the initial price tag associated with software, installation, customization and training, and often they get a little bit of sticker shock.

What they don't realize is the cost of NOT implementing software that will increase productivity and efficiency.  What if the firm could recoup their investment in 1-2 months?  Would it be worth it then?

HeaderSome malpractice carriers actually discount premiums if firms use certain types of software, which is an added incentive to make the investment.  Would your carrier cringe if the firm's current procedures were known?

What if your paper data was lost or destroyed?  How would you recreate it?  All of these questions are reasons to look at legal specialty software, in addition to the positive effect it may have on your bottom line.

We have created several Return on Investment (ROI) documents that offer real life examples of how certain types of software can affect your pocketbook.  For a sample Document Management ROI, click here.  For a sample Case Management ROI, click here.

And make sure you understand that the key to a proper implementation is not just software costs.  Any software package is only as good as the data being entered by the people using it.  If staff is not properly trained and if they do not have a say in the implementation, they will not buy into the process.  Be sure to factor that into the equation, with training and customization costs, as we did in our sample documents.

For additional questions, or for a customized ROI for your firm, please contact any of our legal technology consultants.
