Search Engine Optimization

You might have a really cool site, but if nobody sees it, what's the point?

Here's how the natural search engine optimization process works...

Current Website Analysis
So that we can improve your traffic, we need to determine where you are.  We also need to have something to compare to when we are done.

Competitive Research
After we find out where you are, we investigate your competitors.  What are they doing to rank highly?  Who is linking to their site?  We'll find out everything we can, and put it to good use for your benefit.

Keyword Research and Analysis
We have to figure out what terms people are using to search for your products and services.  For some businesses, it's easier than others.  You'd be surprised what phrases people search for to find you.  We'll work with you to determine what keyword phrases are best for you.  We use a paid service that actually shows what terms people are searching with.

Site Navigation Structure and Page Code
We'll check to make sure your site is navigation friendly for customers, as well as for the search engines.  This will enable your site to be indexed by the engines. During this stage of the process, we'll also make sure your pages have custom titles and descriptions.

Page Content / Search Engine Copyrighting
Content is king!  In real estate, they say "Location, location, location!".  Well for websites, it's "Content, content, content!".  Yes, your copy must be keyword rich, but it isn't about throwing a few keywords here and there.  Is your copy interesting enough to grab your customer's attention?  We'll make sure you get the customer's attention and the search engine's attention.

Search Engine Submissions & Directory Submissions
Now that your site is newly search engine optimized, we'll start putting it out there.  It's really not necessary to submit it to the search engines.  The search engines will automatically find you and index your site.  However, it's very important to submit to the directories, such as the DMOZ Open Directory Project.  They have strict guidelines as to how you submit a site for review by an all human volunteer staff.  Your site must be reviewed and approved by the DMOZ category editor to be included. We have a DMOZ editor on staff, so we are very experienced with this. Go here to read more about directories.

Link Building
You have to be popular. No, it's not the 9th grade, but still.  Some search engines use link popularity in their current ranking method. To rank well in Google, your site must have good PageRank.  Your PageRank is determined by the number and quality of inbound links. We will help you get good quality inbound links.

Evaluation & Maintenance
Our work is never done.  Search engines change their formulas, your competitors react, and so on.  We stay up to the minute in what's going on in the search world, so that we can tweak your site accordingly.
